Parking Brake Handle upgrading

I wanting to switch from the clicker/whale tail handle to the "newer" pull handle with twist adjustment. I have all the parts for the new handle/cable assembly and need to know where i need to place the handle next to the box seat. The floor sorta rotted away and has been patched, but there wasn't enough floor left to make a template for the old handle's location.

The cable hole is 1ft forward from the rear wall and 2 1/2 in inwards from the sill.

If I had a choice I would mount it back further that stupid handle will give you a enema if you are not careful.
