Your install looks good LBird, maybe you don't have the switch mounted in the brake handle assembly correctly. Take the switch out and manually operate it. Switch lever down towards the switch body should turn on the Brake Indicator Lamp, release and it should go out. When the brake handle is in the up position, the switch needs to be closed. Let me know how that works out.
