Ken, why are you running it all the way from the rear? Can't you use the 2 into one connector on the front side marker to the front parking light?
Where can I get a 2 into one military connector?
I just about went nuts trying to figure out why my front marker lights were getting no power on my M35A3!!!! Glad this thread came up when I was going to post a new thread on my problem.

Might be a stupid question from a newbie owner but how do you get into the 3 lever headlight switch to make the changes for parking lights? Anyone got a diagram or pic to share on the switch? I hate to pierce, trace and splice wires. I can solder and use a multi meter but I'm just starting to learn about my m109a3. I've been reading the TMs on my little ipad screen and plan on having them printed unless someone has a copy of the books they are willing to sell. Thanks Bill

You DON'T get into the switch to make the change. You add a jumper to the wire harness connected to the switch. A quick search will turn up the procedure. Use caution though. I damaged my harness trying to jumper it behind the switch and spent a few hours just making repairs. My harness is old and a little brittle, but functional.

I ended up running the wire from the rear, just like DH told me I should do to begin with when he explained both procedures to me. They both do the same thing, jumpering behind the switch uses much less wire, but you can damage things if you're not careful - like I did. Running a wire from the rear is less permanent, and just as easy.

Better you guys reinvent the wheel. I can see no reason why a deuce needs to have the parking lights on when the headlights are on... Go figure. The cop could not ticket you because the truck lights were working as designed. However if you go adding lights to bring it to a more modern compliance and they don't work, you won't pass inspection in most states. Remember, the auto drivers are the same types that manage to get run over by a locomotive in daylight that has head lights, flashing ditch lights, air horn, bell being used and crossing lights and gates down...aua I figure mechanical Darwinism is God's way of emptying out the recessive genes in the gene pool....

Not trying to play devils advocate, but isn't it a rule that if a vehicle was made before a law was passed you wouldn't have to fix itto make it legal due to keeping it historic. ex. a historic car without seats belts can be legally driven if it was made before the law was enacted.

Didnt Dodge or Ford make an ol Unibody pickup truck that didnt have taillights?

I had a set of LEDs from when I pulled Oversize Loads, and ran my own 2.5" corner bed markers, 2.5"L cab markers on a visor Im fabbin up, and 6"ovals on my fenders, all to one 12v circuit...most of my LEDs were free.

my backup light is a Cole Hersey spring swith for our sidebooms backup alarms..
and my back up lights are some 12V floods from NAPA.. way I see it, If you cant pay attention to 2 bright frickin lamps, then Im gonna smile at the check you gonna give me.

I did mine because I thought it looked cool. Still do. Got soldier B to run the wire and zip tie it, I just had to make a few connections. Oh and repair the damage from trying to do it the "easy" way.
