Passenger side tire cupping

I have the passenger side cupping I saw a thread that exhaust heat can cause this. I eliminated the J pipe and have just an elbow drives side has almost zero wear should I relocate exhaust to the back of cab?My tires are 14.00 20 NATO NDTs

No, well, if you want to, it's your stuff. Please explain how the J pipe causes cupping? Cupping can be caused by alignment issues, over/under inflation, one side braking harder than the other, shock issue or just turning. These pigs are heavy over the front, more so if it is a winch truck.

The heat from the exhaust softens the rubber as you drive especially in the summer.I have lockout hubs as well I will be doing brake pads and drums in a week or two.

Ya I'm not sure what's going on but I will be doing pads and drums and try to eliminate some of the potential causes I'm not sure don't have any vibrations and no pull in the steering could be brakes or could be the exhaust heat building up in the tire as I drive .

What? The heat at that part of the pipe when driving ain't enough to soften the rubber to cup. IF it got that hot, there would be a tire failure. ****, the exhaust on new trucks id 1000 degrees + at the outlet of the pipe. That means that every truck running around, actually WORKING would be failing the front set of drive tires due to the exhaust going directly onto the tires.

You have another issue, NOT the small amount of heat at the lower point of the J pipe. I put thousands of miles on my junk and never had issues caused by excessiveheat from the pipe. I used it alot in 100 degree heat here in Ca.

Is it the inside or the outside of the tire that's cupping? Have you checked your toe (in or out)? All the same tire pressures? Truck doesn't pull to the right?
