Posted this in the 5 ton forum, but this is a good spot too. Found a video on Youtube from a crowd goer, with some odd commentary (not about us), but he does have some more. The local news videos use horrible Adobe flash and advertising, so I won't subject you all to that, but feel free to look them up. They had good footage of the parade, not the MV's.

The parade is kind of a big deal and supposedly was 2nd in the country at one time. 53rd annual.

Hey BenRoberts, I started a thread titled 2017 4th of July parade photos. I didn't see your post and no one else has added to my post yet so maybe the mods can merge the two. Here are a few pictures from the parade I went to with Elidaclan and his HEMTT and Vintage Iron with his M916. Great time and well received.

2017 Independence Day Parade in The Woodlands, Texas

Madmedic (in his HMMVW) and I (in the Deuce) joined the Marine Corps League East Texas Detachment ("MCL") for the 2017 Independence Day Parade held in The Woodlands, Texas this morning. I enjoy doing events with the MCL. A typical parade with this group consists of: (i) their truck and trailer; (ii) several classic cars owned by MCL members; and (iii) as many MVs as we can gather. The MVs are typically filled with friends, family and JROTC students from local high schools. Marine Corps recruiters from the local office are always in attendance for the parades.

Today, we only had one of their classic cars (my favorite one at that). Also, since it is summer and school is out, we didn't have the usual group of JROTC kids. Instead, the recruiters brought a group of Poolees (that is young men and women who have joined the Marine Corps' delayed-entry program).

Here is our line-up as we made way to the parade's starting point >>>

Towards the end of the parade, the classic car stalled and would not restart. The Poolees had to push it back to the staging ground. Both MVs ran flawlessly!!!

Our local parade in Greendale, Indiana. It is actually a bike and dress up parade for the little kids. Had about 100 or so of them, two fire trucks, two EMS vehicles 3 police cars and my M931a2. Not a very big parade but the kids loved "the big Army truck"

We were in 3 parades for this years Memorial Day.

First Parade was in Sturtevant WI on Saturday, they restarted this Parade which had been last done in the 70s.

The next two Parades were Racine WI and then later in the day Milwaukee.

Enjoy.

GREAT THREAD !

Thanks for posting it up and for all the contributions thus far.

What I am about to say, I say in the most caring way possible.....

Especially with the current-day flap over certain professional sports players, teams and leagues and due respect to the US Flag, PLEASE read the following LAW - The US FLAG CODE - to understand how to properly and respectfully display our National Banner when parading these Former Military Vehicles.
Let us set the GOOD EXAMPLE, please.

THE FLAG CODE:

A good explanation of the FLAG CODE.... WITH PHOTO EXAMPLES:

Thank you all for respecting the Flag.
