Please put descriptive titles on your threads

Point being, some are very good at it and some are not. A lot of times I see a vague thread title and do not look at it at all. The threads per day seem to have gone up greatly as of late. I used to read all of them but do not have the time right now so I just skim the titles to see if there is a thread I should comment on or read. Descriptive titles to threads help both the poster and the general population. If you have a descriptive thread title such as "help with M1009 floor replacement" I might just post a solution to your problem. If you just put "help!!!!! I probably will not even look at the thread.
Descriptive thread titles also help out when it comes time to do a search. When looking through a long list of responses to a search a descriptive title will help someone find what they need without opening all the threads one at a time to see if it actually helps them.
I get lazy some times and I am sure if you will search my threads you might be able to find some threads that could have been described better but I really do try to properly title a thread.

...AND when you are starting a new thread, if you name it correctly, the site will find similar threads so you might not HAVE to start a new one. This happened with my pyro gauges. I hadn't realized I already started one, so I just added on to that one. The combining of topics in one thread will help you when you search for info.

If i may suggest something else in additoin to your excellent advice. I have seen a TON of really neat pics that various members have snapped while traveling. Title usually is something like "what is it", "spotted today" ect. After some people have chimed in and identified what it is the thread starter should go back and CHANGE the title so we might actually be able to find those neat pics in the future. Case in point, the MV that westfolk was trying to ID from that vid the other day. I knew i had seen it here with several really nice pics somewhere in a highway rest area. But there is about a 1% chance anyone can remember the title of that thread. Just my

Bringing this back to the top! Folks, it would be nice if in the title of threads you can list one of the vehicles involved. "Check out my new truck" would be better if it were "Check out my new M1028A3 or CUCV". At least at this point folks have an idea of what they are headed into. I can only imagine how many good threads I miss because the title bores the hell out of me or leads me nowhere. It's also a tremendous help with the search feature. By the way, I was going to start a new thread for this but the nice auto search feature brought this one up. Nice feature that we should all pay attention to!

How can we expect someone to take their time and help us if we are not willing to put forth the effort to even give a clue about what we are asking in the thread title?

If the answers given were anything like some of the questions asked, the answers would be worthless. It is a matter of courtesy, plain and simple.

I am really grateful to those willing to share their expertise, and I make a conscious effort to summarize my question or request in the thread title.
