Arron- Do you have the fine details worked out, and will you be posting the schedule? My son has a MC race on Sunday, and I have to make my plan of attack. Thanks, 5 Ton

I am looking forward to this event, my wife and I were out browsing camping stoves and such, but I am wondering do we even need them? any issues with campfire? Oh I have a non MV owner from Portland that is interested and may stop by if that's ok? Thanks again for putting all this together Aaron!

Mike hit it on the head. I was just reviewing past posts.

We are set to meet up at 1000 Sat. Depart Cabela's around 1045 after we are sure everybody is there.

Hoping to make Napavine by 1730 with all rigs in tact!

The fire pit was completed today...We will have a campfire/set up tents/grill(I will supply a gas weber and a weber kettle)/eat/etc till the wee hrs or whatever.

Sunday is wide open as Mike said. Feel free to stay as long as you want.

My Father-in-Law is going to be selling some surplus stuff on site. He has shelter halves, sleeping bags, clothing, gloves, MBU's, MBU parts, tons of ammo cans etc.(Wayne is still active in the WA guard after 36 years!) Oh Yea...He also has two Libby 3/4 ton trailers for sale. I will tow one over here.

I think others are bringing stuff to sell/barter.

Lets give this event a big interest push this week!

Thanks, Aaron

Attention on deck,

Gentlemen, I just found out that this Saturday not only marks our convoy but also marks a public memorial service day for a fallen brother in arms who died July 4 at Combat Outpost Zerok, Afghanistan.
Army Pfc. Aaron E. Fairbairn

20, of Aberdeen, Wash.; died July 4 at Combat Outpost Zerok, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when insurgents attacked the outpost using small arms and indirect fires; assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, Fort Richardson, Alaska. Also killed was Pfc. Justin A. Casillas.
A public memorial service for Fairbairn is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Sam Benn Gym in Aberdeen.

I did not know this brother in arms but do know he gave his life in defense of our Country. When we roll into Aberdeen, lets makes this a moving memorial for him. My sister in law knows his brother really well. I'm going to check to see if there's anything we can do as a Steelsoldier brotherhood for their family when we convoy through town. Let me know what everyone thinks.

PFC Fairbairn is expected to land at Bowerman's Field in Hoquiam today (Tuesday) around noon. My plans are to greet this brother home and render salute as he passes w/the motorcade.

I have contacted an organization called the Patriot Guard Riders to see if we could be of assistance. They have been invited to provide escort. I will let you know if I hear anything.

I think we should make an effort to support this brave soldiers family. We will make a drive-by/stop if wanted by the PGR and the family. A few minutes of our time is but a grain of sand on this man's beach of sacrifice to us and our country! Thanks Mike, for checking into this.

My deuce will NOT be coming.
Pulled it into the shop yesterday, and there was leaks in three of the 4 rear drums.
Seals went, and they washed out the bearings (at least in the hub that I pulled). Gear oil and grease all over the brakes, etc.
But the wheel cylinder was fine, go figure (what I thought was the original problem in ONE hub).

Pulled the 5 ton back in the shop to work over the bearings in it, the front tandem was running a little warm. Opened it up, very little grease in there!!! Very clean though, no leaks, they just didn't put enough grease in there, ARGH! I am off to buy a huge tub of grease now.

Looks like I will have the XM818 with M105 trailer for the convoy. Not sure if I will bring the trailer behind it yet, but it should be fine.

l was thinking of joining the convoy at the start, but l thought l would check first, plus l have no idea what or where (what exit) Cabelas is.l would be getting on the I-5 at Bellingham. l have a couple of M35A2s l would be bringing one of them.

Napavine is at exit 72 on I-5. Depends on how hard you push it for time. I'd give it 1.5 hrs with no stops. 1.36 hrs @53 mph.

odnorth, we would love to have you. Cabelas is a huge sporting goods store. The one in Lacey, Wa. that we are meeting at, is just off exit 111 on I-5.

Thanks for joining in! -Aaron
