Wow. The trailered PBY is a treat.

The pics are outstanding IsaLandr, Thank you!
They've brought a PBR out to our local parades for a number of years now, it's quite the treat. They actually have two, currently in the care of the Game Wardens NW. Both are fully restored, fully operational. They usually set up a staircase next to the boat and have it on display all morning and afternoon before the parade so people can come aboard and check it out.

DUH;

- PBR! (I landed once on my head as a child...)

The Reserve turn of my enlistment (USN Seabees), we saw battalion muster at the U.S. Army Engineering Center at waht was Ft Belvoir in Virginia.

I think it's a Jont Base now, so not so sure what components are there now.

Anyway, remember seeing some PBR-like craft there in the day (bridge-building equipment I think it was), and got a kick out of inspecting the water-jet propulsion system of that thing:

- It was stamped "Jacuzzi" (they were BIG honking jacuzzi jets, let me tell you).

That's it. The End

Here are some of the pictures that I took at Centralia on 4 JULY for their annual Summerfest Parade. Busy and warm day, but we had a good turnout. The PBR is the Navy boat. It is essentially fully operational except for live radar and radios. We have both, but not installed. Please note the two tan M923's belonged to the 224th CE ORNG unit and were attached to the 1st Stryker Brigade in Iraq in 2004. Just learned that the other day from a couple guys that were in the Stryker unit at that time. I believe the uniforms were the Friends of Willy and Joe group. They hit a lot of parades and events around here

"Willie and Joe" was Bill Mauldin's syndicated cartoon during WWII. Good stuff!

Laughs are always good.

In the words of Led Zepplin: "Cryin' won't help you; prayin' won't do you no good".

Here's one of my favorites:

Just a reminder, this weekend is the Pacific NorthWest rally in McCleary WA

Only things to note are that Friday night I'll be providing about 10 lbs of beef in Korean marinade and rice, so anyone that wants to contribute to dinner that night knows what it is for appropriate side dishes

The highway here between here and Kamilche (near Shelton, WA) is closed for the next two weeks so the only route is through the city of McCleary.

I'll be chasing a radiator leak this weekend. :mad:
