Same thing happened to my 1009 a couple or more years ago. Went to start engine, the relay went crazy. Burned out solenoid, starter, wiring on fire wall. Happened so fast I did not have time to disconnect batteries. I did the dog bone and mounted a quick cutoff switch to the batteries. Replaced wiring on firewall, replaced starter (that damn starter is heavy). No lift, did laying on a floor creeper. The only thing I noticed was there is no snap when starting. Everyone talks about a snap when starting. Oh well, maybe I'm deaf.
