Problems with split rim HMMWV tires?

Are there any know issues with the standard split rims that come on the M1101/2 trailers? I picked one up last month and am considering keeping the stock tires & rims (sans runflats). I originally intended to move to the same 37" tire mounted on a traditional rim but the tires that came on my trailer are like new. We pulled one of the run flats over the weekend (that was fun) and the split rims look almost new. Would I be asking for trouble keeping the split rims with the newer tires and no run flats? If it matters I don't expect the trailer to see a lot of mileage. Thanks in advance.

The tires are unnecessarily tall & heavy for practical purposes for like 99.99% of people's uses, I suppose? They're also expensive to replace, but TBH you're not going to come out much ahead buying anything to replace them & selling them either.

But no, there's not a mechanical issue with them, and they're also not a "split rim" in the way most people negatively refer to actual split rims. I mean, they do in fact split if you take them apart, but they're not particularly dangerous or held together with what amounts to a big circlip. I guess you might be able to (practically, not at all legally) get close to the weight where 12 bolts used to have issues (hence the 24 bolts the M115x series came with) but doubt you ever would...
