OK, this is so basic that it's probably a dumb question, so please excuse my ignorance. I just got a reel of cord to tie down the bed cover on my deuce but I can't seem to find a guide that shows the "correct" way to tie it down. Can anyone here direct me to a source?

Thanks,
mdh

Sorry for the late reply. Been working all weekend with more to go.:cry:

Anyway, thanks everyone for the help and yes, I was asking about the EPDM cord. Here is what I ordered from McMaster-Carr. It's different from the item in the post above.

I asked our motor pool guys and their procedure is this;
On a warm day (so that the cover os as pliable and "large" as it's gonna get) position the cover on the truck and get it as centered as possible. Thread the "o-ring" cord through the eyelets and leave a "little slack" between each eyelet (couldn't get anyone to say just how much a 'little slack' is).
I think it's gonna be a trial and error thing since you'll want enough tension to keep the cover in place at road speeds but not so much that you start tearing out the eyelets.
Tie off the ends of the cord where they meet (usually at the head board end of the cover) leaving enough extra to re-adjust if the weather gets cold and the cover draws up.
Pull the cord down under each tie-down hook starting at opposite corners to keep the cover taunt and centered. Once the cover is anchored, hook the cord under the rest of the tie-downs.

Will try to take some pictures next time I'm in there.
