Good luck on the tire fix, Jay. I'd say silicone is not an approved replacement for the specified "O" ring, some motor pool guy was being a rocket scientist....! I had a USMC M422A1 Mighty Mite that some Marine Corps brainiac figured if you didn't have the 1/2" hose clamps (2) that clamped the vent line from one side of the fuel tank to the other... Use two (2) 1-1/2 RADIATOR clamps and two (2) rolls of electricians tape wrapped around the hose ends before clamping... Do you think it leaked when the tank was filled? Like a overloaded cow p--sing on a flat rock! And with the exhaust nearby and it's gasoline! I always wondered how the Marines survived 'Nam as this was a Headquarters or Ship's Detachment Commanders Truck!!!

White Owl will set you right. Jay, I came across a repair order from Kenworth in Colorado Springs changeing out the axle oil in the front axle of the old M35A2, musta been after fording as they said the oil was yellow......! Remember when fording the M35A3 to change all the gear oil and repack all the wheel bearings, SOP!

Cheers,
