Random boxes of parts

Amongst the oohs and aaahs I found a couple things I'm unsure of, no idea what the larger clasps are for and i didn't know they made hood clasps with brass caps. Also found a speedometer showing 5 miles on the odometer . Hoping someone can tell me what the latches are and catch me up on brass clasps. Apologies for the lighting.

First picture is the hood anti-flyup catch that bolts to the front of the inner lip of the inside of the hood. The second is the spring catch that holds the hood shut.

I knew what the second clasp was, just didn't know they made brass ones. Thanks for the info about the anti fly up latches
