Rear suspension spring help?

I have checked several resources and all have listed the -2 springs as Front springs, not for rear. I do realize the truck will likely ride pretty darn rough with -3 springs but honestly I’m not climbing Everest. It’s mostly driven on street and beach. Here are some numbers I’ve seen

Yeah, I get that. Maybe mine is a fluke, or maybe I’m just weird. I know most people are looking for the “level” suspension but I like the raked look of the original Hmmwv. Plus, it’s in the process of 4-man conversion and I do tow with it so I thought higher spring rate would be good. I don’t mind the rough ride, like I said, street and beach

Fig. 192 seams to show a stamped perch with 12338316-2, is that correct for the rear. And has anyone swapped these with the progressive springs? Any "softer" ??? I know that's an oxymoron.

You can swap the cast purch in and use a variable spring for a good ride.

Old thread reactivation I know.
Parts TM was a great reference when looking at replacement rear springs for my M998. My vehicle had sagged springs RF and RR. To my surprise the 12338316-2 spring is used in the rear for the M998 H13 UOC. Same spring is used in the Hummer H1 snow plow reference.

I use the 12338316-2 in the front position on my M998 and they are indeed firm compared to the 12338316-1 by a good margin.

This now makes sense, thanks. What kind of springs did you use in the rear to fix the sag? I assume if the snow plow springs were installed in front, and also in the rear, the rear would actually sit lower now

I’m using the plow springs front and rear on the 998. It sits about level unloaded.

IMO... With AMG or NOS or nice pull off anything springs and shocks military, it's going to ride like a military truck. If going for a sweet ride, money and after market kits to build it for the engineered ride your looking for.

I got what to me is a SIGNIFICANT ride improvement by simply unbolting the bottom of the shocks.. and driving arround on / off road BINGO!

since then I have removed the shocks and sooo much better (to me)
