Remove Tax for Vehicles Shipped Out of State

Has anyone had any luck getting GovPlanet to deduct the Sales Tax from the final Invoice when the Vehicle is being shipped out-of-state? I requested it and they just replaced the CA Tax with Texas Sales Tax instead. I don't want to pay the tax until I go to register it (if possible). Any advice would be appreciated. I picked up my last truck from Barstow, so didn't run into this issue...

I don’t think you’re going to have much luck with that. After the epay lawsuit with multiple states and the on line thing. All auction sites collect sales tax , you have a better chance of getting your local gov to not charge tax.

You have to have a sales tax exemption form on file otherwise they will hit you with tax to cover their end in case you don't file for title and thus skip paying tax.

Can you research anything that shows that, if a vehicle is purchased outside of TX, the tax is paid when the vehicle is registered within the state? If you can find something like that, then you could show that to GP. This is how it works in Maryland. I showed documentation of this to GovLiquidation long ago, and they waived the tax payment. I have not tried this with GP.
