Hey fellows I am new to the site and wanted to say thanks for all the info. I will soon be a proud owner of a 195? REO deuce and wanted to ask a few tech questions. I have searched the internet but there isnt a whole lot of info out there or I am not looking in the right places. The one thing was, Is the first m35a1 w/ AO331 331 engine 12 volt or a 24 volt ?

The one I am looking to buy is 12 volt with gas engine not MF. I dont know the exact year of it yet. It has been on a farm for many years as a feed truck so I am headed this weekend to check it out more.

Military ignitions systems on the OA331 are 24 V. REO made a commercial version called the Gold Comet that had 12 volt ignitions, normal spark plugs and vacuum advance. They also made a bigger version called the 400.

The OA 331 is a good steady engine to have in front of you. They sound great at 400 rpm idle just ticking along and roar really good going down the road at wide open.

Antelope Valley has lots of parts as well as a few other places.

One of our members (cranetruck) is near you. He is well educated and experienced in these trucks. Maybe you should PM him and see if he could assist you in evaluating the truck you are interested in.
