Replacement glove box seal/gasket. Any suggestions?

So I just painted my glove box assembly after sandblasting it. I had intended to put the old rubber seal back on the door, but when I dug it out today, I realized how bad it looked. The rubber itself is in decent shape, but it is caked with rust. Has anyone found a replacement seal for these, or an acceptable alternative? I have had no luck finding anything but replacement doors online. I'm sure I'm not the first to encounter this problem. Any input is welcomed.

Some generic stick on foam seal would probably work just fine(hardware store).

I haven't seen one of those gaskets yet as I am chasing the deuce now, but if its intact sandblast it, it makes rubber look like new.

Most of the gaskets are not 'solid' rubber, and the ones that are will stop AP rounds.

Thanks again to M35A2-AZ. My original seal measured 3/8" x 7/16", so I went with McMaster's closest, 3/8" x 3/8", part number 8694K138. Looks pretty good. Here are my results.

I do not have a build thread. I guess I need to put one together. I'll need to look through my receipts so I can give proper credits to those who supplied my parts. I have only posted a few pics in random threads on the site, like the "What did you do to your deuce" thread.

Does it seem like the seal will be water proof, or reasonably well? (I assume that's why it had a gasket seal in the first place).


As to build threads , I myself like to just post about one project at a time, as when I'm searching for other or similar mods/repairs that I may be interested in doing, my stomach churns finding a thread in the search result of 30 pages, and digging though to where they may or may not mention, say, speedometer adapter oil seal, or glove box gasket...

Looks like it could be weatherproof, but in my case, it doesn't fully close at the top. Not sure if the dash is bent or the latch isn't quite right.
