I have a real nice take out that had about 700 hrs on it when I swapped it out. Only thing missing is the alternator. I did a lot of maintenance stuff like updated head gaskets, rebuilt injectors and turbo before I pulled it. Only reason I swapped it was I got bored one weekend and had never done a motor swap in a deuce.

I can honestly say I have never heard of any one swapping out an engine because they were bored !
At least it was a good training experience I hope ! :D

We are working on me getting a motor to him. Things are slow cause I work too much. 7days in a row makes gimp a not happy camper.

Outstanding, Then he will have some xtra parts. Even a few nuts, bolts, fasteners, brackets, covers, come in handy. I have even made tools out of head bolts, studs. Weld on removal tools, a chisel point which did its job by notching a log in hard to reach spot for a repair on the barn. You never know.

You can never have enough "spare" parts ! Especially on an engine that is "Obsolete" .
