Serpentine belt replacement

I am curious to see the actual belt replacement procedure for my ECV engine but cannot find it in any of the TMs.
I did find this in one of the TMs but the artist has a whole pocket full of wishful thinking showing the tensioner completely free and clear of the fan, blades are not more than 1/2" in front of the tensioner, looks like getting a 3/8" break-over bar on the tensioner would be a real challenge.

on the ones I've worked on, go from the driver's side top, and push down on the belt at the idler pulley over there. With a little body weight behind it, you can slip the belt right off that idler no problems. From there it's loose enough to get it off of the other idler, and then the tensioner, and every other pulley after that.

loosen the alternator/generator.. that will give you the slack.. when doing the generator, have someone adjust the tensioner all the way back.. (At least this is how someone I know in the service said they did it in the field.)

I got a belt tool from harbor and the angle would hit the base of the fan. I put a little dog leg in it and it worked perfectly.58711540-4853-4630-A1EB-C81E18CEC9B7.jpeg

not much to expand on, I just use my 3/8 long handled wratchet.
Are you just doing yours from the top/passenger side and flexing the fan blades to get access or coming at it from another direction?

I'm guessing those blades are tough enoug to take it, but I got nervous with how much they were bending and ended up switching to a small 3/8" adapter with a wrench on it and then a long pipe over the wrench. For anyone doing this for the first time - my experience was that you have to get the tensioner all the way to it's stop in order to get a new belt on, so you really need to swing it a long way.
