I may be crazy but I thought there were "skinny grease gun tips" available that could get into places like the front U joint on a HMMWV but I cannot find any..

I didn't have an issue with a standard grease gun and flexible hose.

I do know some guys that would love an extra skinny grease gun tip to do the intermediate shaft on their 900 series 5 ton though.

Coug, Have you tried using your standard tip on your U-joints yet?
I've greased mine multiple times.

Using a pistol grip gun is much easier than a lever action gun as it allows you to hold the tip in place to start.
Flex hose is also necessary to get in on the steering shaft U-joints and other tight places.

Lincoln 1134 with flex hose coupler (the one on the bottom) is what I prefer to use.

Post 6 is the way to go for some of these hard to find grease points. Especially U joints. neglect them at your own peril. It really gets dicey if you have one of these little grease joints fail and it becomes necessary to change it out. Sometimes it is simpler to change out the whole u joint. These needle tip grease gun adapters can usually be found in the better auto parts stores or on line.

I get all of my zerks with a regular grease gun tip. Raise a tire at the end you are working on, put shifter in N, and rotate tire until you get good access to that u-joint zerk.

This is a Duramax conversion, nothing to do with a stock Humvee, I can stand right under it and give it Eskimo kisses I just cannot get my regular grease gun end on it

Jason,

Axles are not the problem, it's those SOB's stuck up in the U-joints in the driveshafts. My standard grease fitting can't get up in there.
