Smart Start Box Ground Cable

Hey guys,

I was wiring up some lights last night and I disconnected the ground to the smart start box behind the Guages to wire my lights to it.

Seems like its acting up sometimes now...
Any chance I friend my $900 box by not unplugging the batteries first?

I know you are supposed to disconnect batts before unplugging the entire box but does the same logic apply to the ground?

Could be an expensive mistake lol!!

I'm not implying anything too logical here but, I don't have a ground wire on my box and it works fine.. I doubt disconnecting it would do any damage.. Just saying....

From your description I don’t know what you disconnected. That means I cannot answer your question.

In general always disconnect the batteries before all electrical work
