I have my trucks because I like working on them, they are the last generation of straight forward honest hard working and very capable trucks left. The other PRIMARY reason is I feel I am doing my small part in preserving history, that may sound weird but SO many people have never ever had the chance to climb up into a Deuce let alone a 939 series truck, I have taken mine to schools and given talks to children at these schools on the history and what roles these trucks have played in this country. To see the looks on their faces is worth every penny, and every hour spent on thes trucks keeping them rolling and representing a part of what this country is about!

Cause my A3 is quiet and the pheasant roosters have come up to the front tires trying to drive if from their territory and the 11 point buck just ran a few yards to get off the path and stood there and watched me watch it and I told the buck I would have been eating him If I would have been hungrier and not so lazy and it was cheaper than a honda or polaris 6 wheeler and it sounds like the semis I used to drive and it doesn't get stuck in mud puddles like the semis I used to drive and it sure is fun on the farm and it is capable of hauling my girl friends.

I don't have a Deuce but I figure I'm still allowed to post here.

What do I do with my truck? What can't I do? well maybe fit in a compact car parking spot.
Mine is all fun. I can tow with it if need be, but 99.9% of the time its off road cruising and pulling trucks out of deep mess. Soon I will be doing "public relations" type stuff, helping local charities, parades but for now, its all about the mud.

Having one brings memories of my Military time. I love watching them in parades and shows. I can spend hours looking out the window and just seeing it sitting in the yard and I still cannot believe that they let us actualy own one. They are easy to work on. and relatively cheap to run. ( licence fees and Insurance) I've hauled stuff from the lumber yard. Hauled Vets and kids in Parades. I enjoy the looks on my wife's face when she is riding in it. Same for the grandkids. Mostly, it is a hobby. I have made some great friends over the years because of my green fever. Can't wait to get my toys up to my farm so they may do some work too. I added a ten ton taggalong trailer to it to haul a friends M114 to shows and parades. We have been to so many parades with our toys and It is much more fun being in a parade rather than just watching one.

Well I got pickups so needing it for that stuff is out, it’s registered historic that limits its use a little. So what do I do with it or use it for? I will let these couple threads answer it for me....

I have a small sawmill and use the deuce for hauling logs, slabs, boards, firewood, and sawdust, and towing my John Deere tractor. I have various ways of getting the logs on, but wil be installing a 5,000 lb. Autocrane soon. With the front winch, I can reach into the woods and pull out otherwise inaccessible logs. It gets in places a log truck can't. As I mostly pick up one or a few logs at a time, the payload capacity is enough.

Well what I do with mine more than anything is try to get all the small problems sorted. Fix paint and stay on top of the manintinence. I also attend shows, parades, and started renting them out in TV ads, weddings, school mettings, birthdays and even one small film. This helps me keep buy parts and also add more equipment. My hobby pays for it self.

Its an all around ranch truck. Rides smoother on the rough mesa trails than a pickup and hauls waaaay more. I am currently feeding cattle on 25000 acres hauling 3500# of cake and 2800# hay. Then if it snows, hook up the snow plow , chain up six wheels and just go. I love it!!

Well, i also spent many hours and miles in them in the Marines. We use them to go to touch a truck shows thats kids love. They climb all over them. Its a blast. Also parades, car/ truck shows and special events for veterans. I agree its one of the most patriotic hobbies you can have. I have met many nice veterans and heard hundreds of war stories. Also, Ive spent my whole life working on trucks, so working on these is not a problem. I dont use ours for work at all. Simply play toys, BIG ones! As a hobby I have less money in the 2 trucks combined than most hotroders have in a set of tires and wheels or a paint job.
so here is a question for you...Why not have one?
