I am trying to learn about all the numbers and what they designate. I have 10 trucks so I need to learn it. But can someone double check me on a couple to make sure I am on the right track please?

ID 86k1154 0940-10856
also has the 86k1154 on the inside of the door
nsn 2320 00 926 0873
I think the "86" means it is a 1986 year. The "40" is dropside. Any other info?

next truck-
nsn 2320 00 077 1616
0525 11884
usa 4G70170
I think the "25" means 2 1/2 ton wo/w, and the "70" means 1970.

How am I doing?

Thanks for any input!

Hundy

ps- I have another ser 411 9036, mfr 0125 23732. It actually says its a 1966 yr model on the tag. I think the "25" means no winch- but it has one on it. Is this common?

Hundy, I believe you are right. The first truck is Air Force.

Recovery-- you are correct---- says USAF stenciled inside. How could you tell?
From what I understand all '86 trucks were USAF. They were all dropsides too I believe.
