splice into electric system

Hello i have recently bought a 1990 m923a2. I want to put some electrical accessories in it. My question is is there a place to hook into the system so that they will turn off with the battery switch or should I hooknthem onto the battery and run seperate switches? I would prefer to find some sort of terminals to hook to so the battery shutoff switch runs it. Thanks in advance

I hooked mine off of the batteries and used fuses to the switches. Ericks sells the connectors to tap into the existing harness. But you have to realize that everything in the truck is on brakers that are matched to the factory electric system. So anything you add could cause you issues if you don't come off of the batteries

I was going to pose a similar question, I wanted to know where people were tapping in so I could get power to switch a relay.

Don't forget its 24v if your adding 12v accessories. If you hook to the battery use the positive and ground off the same battery. FYI

I am running a 24 volt hydraulic pump and a radio with a 24 to 12v converter. I have them hooked to the battery now so i guess i will put in seperate fused switches then. Thank you for the input

Your going to need to add a relay / solenoid to handle the draw for both of them . So a 3 way plug from existing wiring to power the switch for the relay / solenoid will have very little draw.

For power I ran right off of the battery with an in-line fuse. You can pop in whatever amp fuse you like and its in a water tight rubber holder for good measure. I'd say running the cable was the hardest bit.

With a little creativity you too can make a custom power/switch panel. Just be sure to use heavy duty switches for high load applications!

Look at the electrical schematic. My A1 had two empty rubber plugs
for future stuff under the dash. One is for a beacon light set up if
I remember right, about center of the dashboard and the other
was on the DS, I think it was for a tractor to power switching
fuel tanks I think.
