I need to find out if my starter is any good before i install it. I won an LDT4651d at gl, and needed the starter off it. I am still in process of getting this running, and havent purchased new batteries for it yet. Is there a way I can hook up one 12v battery to it and will it spin enough for me to know its good. If this is possible, which terminals on the starter can I connect the battery to?? any help would be appreciated.

No reason not to try 12v. If it spins at all, its probably good. I wouldn't do it for long as it will try to pull a sh1t load of amps. :)

connect the battery to the big term on the selenoid that still has the motor wire on it. no load probably won't pull more than 100 amps
