I started shopping for a closed cab today........because of you. The nostalgia is one thing but the curves on the CCKW pull me in. When you get that truck done and suddenly there is a convoy behind you, it's just us trying to get a peak at it. The MVPA boys drive this Closed cab 40 miles to get to the Onoway parade I started running with my Dad in 2010. There's just something about it that makes a person want to follow it. Watching it being restored with lots of pics is a huge help to those who might get there. Thanks for keeping on wiht it and sharing. Here's the future.

I wish my truck was all done and looked that good. I have a long way to go and just hope I don't run out of energy before it's done. I have most of the parts I need with the exception of cargo racks. Looking like they're going to be tough to find unless I substitute M-series parts.

I'm finally back to doing some work on my CCKW project after a long pause. (life gets in the way) Got the newly made bumper installed. I made up the flat blank for the bumper and had a local sheet metal shop bend it for me and then drilled the holes. Also have been cleaning up brake & hub parts for the rear and got the first one assembled.
Mounted the battery box that I'd repaired and painted some time back.
I hope to keep after it as much as I can in my spare time.

Still looking for a few parts:
Good set of WWII wheels...most of mine are either later commercial or pretty rusty.
Basically any troop seat & cargo rack hardware with the exception of the top bow corners which I did find.

Think I've got some troop rack hardware, most likely enough for a whole set here in Ohio. (you can have it, its been sitting around here quite a while, just pay shipping, or pick it up if you're over this way for the Findlay Ohio show. I've an original CCKW/CCW early all steel cargo bed, the all steel GMC one with the rounded floor where it meets the bedside. Had some new side pocket steel made years ago, but they never were installed that go with it. The pictures are of the racks before I cut the old wood away from them for easier storage

Those parts look identical to the G749/ M135 seats. There's even a little fold up tab hanging there to lock the troop seats in the up position. I can't say I looked close enough at the CCKW seats but I will now. Maybe they didn't change much. The ones in the pic below are from the G749, 50's design.

I looked at the 211/135 seats and there is NOT much difference, that's for sure. They didn't re-invent the wheel just for racks then like they would today. Just a much easier and common sense approach to it then.
