Converted an APC interior light into a usable map light with dimmer switch, also added an M-52A2 air cleaner and M-816 wrecker warning lights. The warning lights are for parades. The M-52A2 air cleaner is for a future LDS engine.

The voting is already open several hours and only two posts for canvassing. Wake up contestants, I am waiting

:coffee:  :coffee:

Question for PB and Patracy: are the contestants automatically subscribed for the voting thread so they keep being alerted and see the need for canvassing?

Top photo. Went from a WO/W truck to a W/W truck. Rebuilt the PTO and Winch, sandblasted the extensions and the sheet metal parts on the winch, then primed, painted and added new data plates. Winding the cable on the winch was a challenge the 1st time, but with a little help from my friends we got it done. Also John Tennis makes some nice canvas winch covers. Bottom photo. Due to a steel plate in my neck and two titanium clamps in my lower back, I needed to find a way to mount my medium tow bar as close to the front of the truck as possible, and in a way that I would have to do a minimal amount of lifting to install it. So I removed my upper shackles and replaced them with a pair of axle clamps, you can use the same pins to mount the axle clamps that you used on the shackles. I used a couple of 1/4 in. thick flat hard rubber 4 in. squares that I glued to the bumper to keep the axle clamps from banging on the bumper, and I keep the tow bar feet stored in the tool box. I can loosen the clamps with a 9/16 wrench and let the tow bar down one side at a time, install the feet, then pull the T-Handles from the tow bar legs and install the tow bar one side at a time, with minimal lifting. Now that you've taken the axle clamps off you can store them in the tool box. You don't have to modify any parts to do this installation, and you can rotate the tow bar up 180 degrees so you can use the winch. I also added M35A3 lower shackles so I could still stow my winch chain. Using the lower shackle mounts will require you to use 4 longer grade 8 bolts that run from your upper shackle mounts to the lower shackle mounts. I found these bolts at Fastenal. I have about 2000 mi. on this set up with no problems with the mounting coming loose, or with the front axle from the extra weight. PS, this tow bar set up will also work on trucks without a winch. Also for safety reasons I installed a pair of Lolli Pop lights (my last purchase from Saturn Surplus). Sorry for the lack of paragraphs.:shrugs:

I purchased this A2 in May of 2018. Unfortunately the former owner had passed away. During the purchase process his wife wanted the truck to be taken care of and enjoyed. His primary use for the A2 was parades. This truck is a quarter cut but whoever put it back together did a good job and overall the truck is in good shape. I put new tires on it and changed all fluids. My girlfriend and I enjoy weekend adventures as often as we can. On average, we put around 3,000 miles a year on it. We enjoy seeking out covered bridges, driving it in parades, going for icecream, state parks and off the beaten path places that one would never see or experience flying down the road in a modern car. We also enjoy going to MVPA swap meets. We trailered it from Northern PA to the Weare, NH show last July and had one of the best experiences of our lives. Last but not least, we've met a lot of great people that we'd never have the opportunity to meet without the A2. So maybe this truck isn't the biggest or coolest in this poll, but to us, it ranks #1!

Over the years the Wife and I have enjoyed participating in the Armed Forces Day & Forth of July Parades using our M35A2C to support our Veterans. In the past we have taken American Legion Post 133, in Huntington Beach, CA. and American Legion Post 19, in Hawthorne, NV. This year we will be taking VFW Post 2313 in Hawthorne, NV. on the parade route. Our Veterans really appreciate the turnout, and they really feel the Love, especially our Disabled Veterans.

Narrowed it down to Tracer and Glenngineer. If it would be an older dump, would be easier. Glenngineer, some more pics?
