So lets give some background on the M1093. This spring a friend of mine wanted to sell his M1093 because he didn't have any time. I went up to NC to go get it.
When we got there we had to fix the cab hydraulic system, change some tires out, and load up some extra parts. After 12 hours we finally got on the road. Drove through the night until we finally got home after a 22 hour day.
First thing I had to do was change out the QR1 valve and tractor protection valve. After those were done I had to rebuild all the axle seals and repack the bearings. Each wheel took about 3 hours a piece and oil goes everywhere.
Next on the list was to change out some of the tires.
Then we were able to start the painting process.

I hit the whole truck with an industrial strength cleaner called "wild dog" in a high concentration to etch the paint and remove oils. I then sanded the whole truck with sanding pads and scotch bright pads.

After 3 days of prep I was able to start masking off the truck (6 hours).

I decided to use Rapco spray paint cans and painted over the camo on the truck. (2 days)

Finally the truck was outfitted with a NOS cover and Sold. Was a fun project and excited to do more refurbishments.

I have a question for the group….

When was the last time you saw someone give I.V. fluids to an ambulance?

EMERGENCY LIFESAVING MEASURES.... by the Liter! I presume that I.V. is gasoline laced with lots of octane.

Score extra points for those who have rushed in under the RED CROSS medical markings. In its time of active duty, the medics were unarmed and at the mercy of the enemy's acknowledgement that Medical Support was a NON-TARGET.
My special salute to this vehicle and those who served the fallen.
