Sync a MEP-803A and MEP-802A?

Does anyone know if you can synchronize a MEP-803A (10 kW) and a MEP-802A (5 kW) for a total of 15 kW? The synchronizing unit says it it is designed for both units. Do the units have to have the same kW rating to be able to synchronize? My thinking is use the MEP-802A for low demand and the synchronized units for multiple ACs in summer (high demand).

No, the TQG series cannot do what you are asking. Paralleling is possible on the new Cummins produced MEP line, but thats a whole other story. The MEP-803A will peak at under 15kw for real short duration, and is happy running above 10kw.

If you are talking about the accessory that you see mounted onto trailer units, thats only for syncing the sets together for an instantaneous jump over from one machines power source, to another (uninterrupted service).

You need to read farther into the TM. It says, "Units of like size". The "Synchronizing" unit you are looking at, is not for Load sharing. Its purly for getting two units on line in sync, for the so you can pull one off line, without dropping a load. You have to go to at least a 15 KW size to think about what you want to do.

Correct... and Correct...
The syncronizer you are talking about allows you to get 2 like-size gen's phase synced, then at the flip of the switch the load is instantly disconnected from 1 machine and transferred to the other machine. You can not even have 2 like size machines sharing the load, never mind 2 different size machines!
The 802/803 machines are not designed to run in parallel. Electrically it can be done, but when running 2 machines in parallel they will never be perfectly in sync, the electromagnetic forces within the generator will keep them physically locked in phase, but they will be fighting against each other to some extent, which can damage them.
The larger machines share a common set of controls when running in parallel, keeping them working as one.
