Take care of your NUTS!

Many of us don't give them much thought. The nuts used on our trucks are Mil-Spec and are known as "Flex Nuts". Many hardware outlets do not carry them. They are also very expensive. So, take care of your nuts. There's probably a few thousand dollars worth of them on your truck. I've probably thrown $30 worth away due to rusted/chewed up threads. Now I am taking the time to run a tap through each one and putting it in the parts bin instead of in the garbage bin.

Which ones are "flex nuts" ? Is this like a certain type of nut, say for example like a castlated hex nut, or self locking nuts? Because as far as I've noticed, most of the nuts and bolts on my deuce are just plain old grade 5 or grade 8, depending on location, load, torque etc...
