This weekends plans for me and the boys are to build a sandbox and rebuilding an airpack and installing it and a new master cylinder in the 109. I have searched the TMs and have not found the listing for proper sand to go in the box. I grew up with good ol red fill sand, packs and digs well in my opinion. Any preferences or suggestions from the rest of the adult children out there? Shame I don't have the m35 registered and legal, could have been a grand adventure.

Good thinking wouldnt want any kind of silica sand in there with them breathing it ! The perfect sise would be 3 acres and a D3 and a mini x and let em go !

ABuddy of mine just bought 1 of those a few months back it felt very strange and no one told me the brake is now to push the decelerator all the way down ! It was funny pushing off the end of the fill and trying to catch myself with only putting the transmission in reverse ! I thought this is a bunch of BS

White play sand is a good option. I had that as a kid and my grandpa got a truck load for me from the gravel pit he worked at. Imagine a deuce bed full of sand? Lol! That sure would be some work pushing it all out without a dump bed!

Big tarp in the bed and laid up over the cab of the truck with several ropes under it - depending on how much sand - then pull the tarp back over the sand. Keeps it from sandblasting the cars behind you. When you get back home, tie both ends of the rope (above and below) to a tree and drive slow.

A nice slick bed would help a lot.

I generally am hauling limbs and stuff - and I tie the bottom ropes to the bumper of the truck. Ropes attached to the tree or nearest heavy thing rolls the limbs out and the stuff is covered up with the tarp when you stop moving (and all the stuff falls on the ground). Nice way to recover your tarp too!

So I get to the sand pit at 4 and guy said they gonna close at 5 today and not a frigging sole! Call the pot boss and everyone left at 330 argggggggg!!!! Can I load some by hand ? Sure. So here we go. Way too old for this 😪

It looks to me like your boys will have a perfectly good MOBILE SANDBOX. It has wheels on it and everything. You could build them a roof on top of it and being mobile - it could be parked in the shade.

If you decide to unload it, I think that job might wait until tomorrow.
Whew!
That is a LOT of sand - one shovel full at the time...

You may have to have a cat thinning party once built for some reason they all want to use sandbox's as a litterbox
