I have received the new Energy Suspension parts today. Not all but the sway bar bushing kit. I am still waiting for the front spring shackle bushings. I was at the spring shop today and did not buy rubber ones. I will wait for the urethane bushings from Energy Suspension. Saturday looks like the red letter day. I painted everything I removed. Very colorful on the underside. Have a great day.

Today I worked on CUCV's and the HMMWV for 11 hours straight. I was out in the rain changing the spring bushings on Terminus M1009. I am safe to say that most of the CUCV's I see need to have the rubber bushings replaced. As I was working underside I noticed the broken spring on the transmission shift bell crank. Time to do some repairs and maintenance. Also time for a little sand and paint. My new rule is if the part disconnect from the vehicle it will get sanded and painted. I have many colors and want to use them up vs throw them out. I went to the hardware store. Total cost of the replacement spring $1.47

It was a color that I had for a project I made for my Wife. Matters not looks better then rust. Very colorful and when lubed and a new wave washer on the adjuster it will shift tighter and smoother. Man this is fun and inspirational to others. On a rainy day in the garage you have to use your imagination. I still want to find some city street artists to paint Terminus M1009.
I love the smell of contaminated gear oil.
That CARC paint is tough stuff. Short of grinding or sanding it off it is there to stay. Nothing that a good coat of white paint won't cover. 
White paint looks boring. 
After some taping I mixed up some Massey paint and sprayed the cover again. I felt a little artistic so I choose the special paint. 
Today while working on a 2017 GM cab chassis I found these items in the cup holder. I was amazed that they still used the same springs that they used on the CUCV's. Do you know where they use them on the CUCV and the new cab chassis?
I have finished my long drawn out front end /spring bushing rebuild on Terminus M1009. I changed the front gear oil and greased everything. I changed the rear main seal and went over all the bolts and nuts on the bottom of the engine. I replaced the starter with a rebuilt one. Added a few bright colors and put a new set of Energy Suspension sway bar bushings. I can not believe I have not sold this great truck. Oh well. I have a few off road adventures to go on this summer. I may post some dates if anyone shows any interest. If not I only need 1 more vehicle to make a day of it. I have hooked up the water to the garage for the season and will be getting the pressure washer out this weekend. 
As the sun was setting I noticed a herd of CUCV's had gathered in my west lot. Perhaps it was mating season for the CUCV breed and they were looking for a new mate. 
Or the Cadillac. I know the VW was not what they were after. I still have several CUCV's I want to sell. i have the truck 1987 M1028 still listed. I am done on the wood lots for the year and am looking to get rid of my M1028. Have a great day.

These are few pictures of my rebuild I done last year. Notice the pickup front wall in the bed and the pick up tailgate. 
It is one of my favorite toys. Runs and drives like a new truck. Well almost. Not as comfy and quiet. I get compliments everywhere I ever go with it. Thank you for your interest. It is in very good condition all considering

I drove it like this for 4 years. Very reliable vehicle. Best fishing vehicle I ever owed. I could back in the river on the boat dock and fish from the bed. Mega fun.
That there is Gen-YOO-Whine Redneck to have a fishing VEE-hickle, and fish from the back of the bed.
Today I did something I never done before. I washed Terminus M1009 top to bottom and inside and out. It is not really all that bad. It would make a nice restorer for someone. I will just keep plugging away at it. I think I am going to drop the fuel tank and replace the rear spring bushings or the rear springs. Or sell it which ever comes first.
Check out how clean the Terminus M1009 engine compartment came. A huge improvement over the mud hole that was there when I came back from Rausch Creek in April. This engine and entire truck is still all hooked up original. Amazing. Everything works as designed. with one exception the horn still does not work. Very low on my priority list.
I washed and scrubbed for about 2 hours while paint was drying. All in all the floors are not really that bad. It has a few quick patch jobs here and there. Still a good strong running Terminus M1009
