Test loads?

I'd like to have a "Test Load" to check out my 003A. Something that'll load it to rated output so i can check performance, etc. Any ideas?

you can get 500 Watt lights at HF for cheap or a couple 1500 Watt heaters... there on sale for under ten bucks at Walmart.

Electric heater elements would be your best bet.

x2 on the electric heaters unless you happen to have a cooled carbon pile load.

Electric cube heaters and hair dryers make great portable small load banks, be aware a lot of them draw less than their name plate wattage.

air handler from a heat pump. real cheap at scrap yard and high wattage.

old electric range....the top burners and oven will probably be all that MEP-003a would want to handle.

You can cook them at 120 or 220 load just takes longer. 120 will run you about 10 min and 220 about 7 min. If three phz is used you can even shorten cooking time but you just don't want to over cook. Useally when there eyes pop up there done. Salt and pepper to taste.

The Jaw sockets are the most tender pinkish white meat of all. It will almost slip through your fingers when you cut the jaws out. You would think they would be tough and hard due to their power, but NOT!

It is the filet of the alligator, but better.
