Is there a military issue test rig for testing standard handsets, such as the M80, H189, and H250? Seems to me the only way to test handsets I have now requires two people, two radios, and they are actually broadcasting to see if they can hear each other.

There must be a simpler way to hook up a handset or mic and electrically test if it works or not. I get piles of these H-250s and I hate selling them to others telling them that I don't know if they work or not, since with the -250s, if it's bad, there is no way to fix it, and it's money wasted.

You could try two intercoms. No transmitting with them. GRA-39 IIRC. I have two. They use the same handset. We used them on the gun line. Called them Bltch boxes. I was the operator of the box for a while and always had a pencil with eraser with me because the contacts always were problematic. We had to clean them up all the time with the eraser.

Get a portable, progamable scanner. One that you can plug headphones into. thats how I test mine. Keep the scanner far enough away from the radio.

All you have to do is swap the handsets out.
