[HR][/HR]Hello everyone!
The dates for this years Thunder Over Michigan Air Show and Battle Reenactment are August 20-21, 2016. The location is Willow Run Airport in Belleville, Michigan.
With this show we always have an armor theme to support our reenactment. This year the theme will be US Military Humvees! We have two main attraction battle reenactments over the event weekend that the vehicles may participate in. These battles will be very unique and something never before done. To support the two Russian Mi-24 Hind helicopters and the "Helotown USA" helicopter theme we will be having what we are calling "Hollywood Battles"! This will be a first anywhere to have two Hinds at a show and participating in reenactment battles. This should really be really fun. Think of your favorite 1980s-1990s Cold War era fictional action movies. Red Dawn, Rambo, Under Siege, Chuck Norris, Steven Seagal, Sylvester Stalone, and of course Arnold Schwarzenegger. Russian and American aircraft duking it out in wild dog fights. Epic gun battles between the good guys and bad guys. Now you get to be part of that action!
There is a large area adjacent to our reenactor encampment where the military vehicles will be on display. We also have a large convoy on Friday evening that usually consists of about 40 military vehicles.
We are primarily looking to bring in slant-back examples but, we are interested in hearing from all Humvee owners . Vehicle owners should be open to participating in the reenactment battles and the convoy. The Airshow does offer to cover transportation costs, lodging, and meals.
