Time starter relay for anti-theft...?

Hello...Glad to be back on the forum after a break...!

I'm hoping someone can give some install tips and suggestions. I'm looking to install a relay that's timed and controlled by a remote (like a car alarm fob) as a anti theft device. I would like to set it up so that in order to crank my M1009 one would have to hit the remote which would trigger a relay for say 20 seconds in order to crank and start. After the timed delay one could no longer crank the engine over without resetting the relay again.

I've seen setups where you have to put a microchip fob close to a spot on the dash in order to start the vehicle and if you don't start it within a short time it won't start.

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to do this?

Thanks...!

Wouldn't be easier to move out of the high crime area? Just do what the military did and padlock the steering wheel to the chain that was welded to the floor.

I've got my glow plugs on a switch and if you dont know the location.. after its been parked its not gunna fire.... Although your gunna get a chewed up flexplate/starter its not gunna move. You could also put a switch infront of the fuel pump and it will only go so far.. thats the adam carolla method when he lived in the ghetto and drove a beater.

x2 on the injection pump switch that you can hide. Also if you were very serious about the anti theft mechanisms, have you considered checking out a shop that installs anti theft systems?

Crime is everywhere, even out in the sticks...

That's why they sell comprehensive insurance ( fire, theft, vandalism ) .
My insurance company wouldn't put comprehensive to cover theft, fire and vandalism on any of my square body Chevy trucks.
