Michelin purchased Uniroyal in 1989-90 & aquired the BFG brand.
Michelin spends 5%of its gross revenue on R&D 2x it's closest competitor, Goodyear at 2.3 last time I checked.
I have not run any of the BFGs but have run the Goodyears for wheeling. I gave a set of 40% fairly weather checked MVTs to my brother for his logging crew bus. They worked excellent on the shot rock, and he didn't pop one until they were BALD! I don't think they are the best off-road tire but for most guys who run lots of street they wear really well
