Hi was looking to get new tires for my m1008 and i was thinking of getting new tire valves, also i see that there are 2 different types. One looks straight and one is curved the ones on my truck now have a bolt attached to them dont see these in the Tm.
Anyone think i should change them or leave them alone they currently dont leak just thought the age of truck they might need replaced

thanks

Just the plain rubber ones are stock. The metal/brass ones are heavier duty. In my opinion the ones with the nuts are the best. YMMV

My tire guy like to use the brass ones for my trailer that user 80psi.

I think I recall being told there are both low and high pressure valves.

I just bought a sack of 20 off ebay. The nsn matched what's in the CUCV TM. I installed them in the 7" rims I put on the ambulance. These should last a lifetime. It was during this rim swap that I determined that the CUCV 8 lug rims differ slightly from the civy rims in that they have a .625 valve stem hole vs the .5 hole the civy wheels have. I drilled my 7" rims for the brass stems.

You can also buy just the rubber part for those. Check for leaks around the valve stems before you get new tires mounted.
The o- rings are like $3.00 for the kit. There might even be new washers too.

Anyone have an online source for the rubber seal on the OE-style, brass valve stems?

Nearest truck stop with a decent parts supply house is ~150 miles round trip, so I'm good with paying shipping costs.
