I have towed a few M886s hundreds of miles on an open trailer with another M886 with no problem. If the ambulance can do it the pickup should have no problem It slows down on hills and gets lots of looks but never a problem no mater how far the journey. You may want to put a trailer brake box in the truck and maybe a relay in the parking light circuit for the trailer lights to prevent the switch from overheating and tripping the undersized relay built into the switch. Some already have a relay behind the glove box installed by the military but some don't and it is no fun having all your lights go out when you are driving down a dark road late at night.

I pulled my D-3 Cat dozer around with my M880 for a while on a tag-a-long trailer. It pulled it but did not like it. I melted the plastic brake caliper pistons doing this.
