got trans back in on tuesday, have to put rear seal in on wed morn and put in oil, i am going to use 30wt non detergent motor oil since there is an issue with 2nd gear lubing itself. i also made 3 recesses in the rear hub end of 2nd like most of the other gears have to help oil get into bushing. the main shaft is going to be spinning way faster than 2nd is........ then i need to repair one stake pocket on the near perfect bed i got and blast and paint over the weekend to be ready to drive to gilbert pa for that show

As stated, I'm running a GPS indicated 55 MPH at 2300 RPM. We have a lot of hills out here, not sure of the grade (I don't have an inclinometer - yet), but they are steeper than anything on the Interstates. Running empty, as I most always do, on US-10, the local rural highway, I can maintain any speed on any hill without downshifting. On the side roads, where the grades are steeper yet, my truck will get down to 2000-1800 RPM (peak torque) and just keep on truck'in, still without a downshift. I'm guessing I could run 60 MPH at 2300 rpm on the highway empty and not have to downshift on hills. My goal though, to maximize fuel economy, would be 60 MPH at 2200 RPM.
