203 was 30w motor oil.
My 1972 205 case required 80/90 gear oil.

And nothing really changed in the NP205 when they changed the gear lube specs. I've run ATF in an older NP205 and it did tend to leak more than 80w/90 gear oil though.

The 205 gets better lubrication with the thinner oil and they really don't need anything super heavy,(read thick). I've torn some old 205's apart that hadn't been serviced regular and the lube had the consistancy of tar. I thought the 1980 truck worked/shifted slick with the 30w.
