Thanks for the advice, SouthDave. I locked the hubs, engaged front-wheel drive, put it in low range, reverse, and gave it throttle as I eased the clutch out. After a slight jerk it backed up perfectly. I put it in 1st and it pulled forward as well.
I drove it around the block, but it is now making gear noise, so I guess I have to pull the transfer case anyway. At least it will move though. So now I need to find another transfer case or some parts.
