I tried searching for an answer to this question

I believe the o ring on the transmission modulator is leaking on my M998 with a 3l80 transmission
I ordered a new o ring and I am curious what is involved with replacing only the O ring. Do I need to disconnect anything at the top side on the engine?
or is it as simple as removing it from the side of the transmission only then replacing the O ring and bolting it back on?
The transmission is shifting fine now. Will I need to make any adjustments?

thank you

When I first got my truck I was seeing some seepage in that area and replaced the modulator O ring a couple of times. What it turned out to be was the dipstick tube itself had cracked right at the collar the O ring sits against that was leaking. Pulling the tube is a 1 bolt operation.
