Have you checked the very bottom fuse? It is the 24v that feeds the voltmeter. You may also want to check the voltmeter relay.

Truck started perfectly today, glow plugs seemed to work right with the switch and everything. let it idle for probably 20 min. Got out to it so i could take it to the gym and at the same time see if everything was working well. The voltmeter was working today? but was reading like one of the alternators wasnt charging. tightened up the belts, no help. played with the glowplug switch, voltmeter went to where it should be. So guessing that it was the glowplug switch, and I had corrected it, I drove it to the gym. truck ran strange, shift points were really high in the rpm's and it felt like it had more pickup that usual. anyway got to the gym, shut it off, left the batteries connected. come back 2 hours later, truck starts right up. this time my voltmeter isnt working, and neither is my radio. everything else seemed to be fine. drove it home, same high rpm shifts, and still felt faster than normal. manual glowplug ground and radio are on the same ground.
