In the worse case scenario I can't find a semi local shop to shoot my HMMWV, I bought 2 gallons of Tan686 Mil-DTL-53039E Type IX Coating Aliphatic PU.

I google the Mil-DTL-53039E, all I get is beta beta prime chloro ethyl ether nonsense.

I Ass/U/Me Type IX is POLYURETHANE based?

And for thinning, I should use Xylene to thin it?

Is there a hardener additive I can use to decrease cure time?

And what is recommended for priming bare metal areas left from spot sanding rust?

Potential applicator will be the Purple China Freight HVLP paint gun, N95 mask with hood, electric fan drawing contaminated air out of the garage.

Does PU paint keep in the refrigerator?

I'm going to try to bribe my brother with some Woodford Reserve to shoot the truck after it is prepped, then I clean the equipment. He has a clear glass skull decanter repurposed from some other spirit that he keeps filled with Woodford for special visitors, the skull is named Chester (after Chester Copperpot the Pirate from Goonies)

If it uses Xylene, I wouldn't rely on a n95 on a bet. You need something that will protect against organic solvents and the like, not just particles. A charcoal-based mask is the thing here and I don't mean a thin disposable one either. A half-mask with organic-vapor cartridges at a minimum. Also, don't wear unprotected contacts when spraying anything that can attack plastics.
When I was young and ignorant I did roll-out some of the really good 2-part military epoxy with no PPE just standing upwind and did survive, but I felt pretty bad after and suspect it did some damage. Now in an effort to retain what organ function and my few remaining brain cells, I won't paint anything more aggressive than latex without a positive-pressure setup.

It's the isocyanates that are most dangerous in polyurethane paints. They stick instantly to wet surfaces such as your eye balls and the insides of your lungs.

The same chemical that escaped from a factory and killed hundreds in India.

CARC is dangerous to apply without proper gear and methods.

This is true of any polyurethane paint and not specific to CARC. The CARC hazard is from the silica in it which is release during sanding.
