Vent window lock disassembly reasembly

Hi guys and gals,
Ive been searching but havent had much luck. Trying to pull off the vent window locks. I would like to rebuild them. After running down the road with my kids in the M1028 I determined that the sound may just be of the right pitch to cause hearing loss...... No kidding. The culprit is the passenger side window vent and man does it whistle or shreek or whatever its doing. Its loud. The vent window gaskets or seal are in excellent shape but the locks are just way to loose and not properly sealing the window against the seal. Anyone rebuild these little guys yet? I pulled the pin (tapped it out) but the lock isnt coming apart. Any help appreciated.

I'm not sure if this is the "poor man's solution" or the "clever man's solution" but you can shim it with about $0.50. Maybe $0.75 if it's really loose.

After you drive the pin out you have to work the mechanism to get it to free from the glass. Keep working with it, it will come.

My M1009 has one origininal, I think. wing window -Black with lock button. The other side has been replaced with an older "Wing"- no lock button. I am actually happy with this arrangement as I have an 73 Chevy C20 pick-up with these wing windows and I have been able to let myself in when I lock myself out.

These windows are notoriously fragile. The "hinge" goes or the bottom of the mounting strut gets rusted. Still I have seen some in pretty good shape as some people use them all the time and they never rust at the hinge, The rubber seems hard to find; but a trip or two to the boneyard may yield a well cared for replacement.

I ordered two kits from LMC. $50.00. The passenger side is done. I reused the black rubber coated locks handles that were original. I hate chrome. Anyway, it was pretty easy. Picked up a punch kit but needed one anyway. No more UnGodly shreaking from the passenger wing window! Thanks for everyones input. [thumbzup] Will do the drivers side next.

Outside of a junkyard anyone know where to find the whole window assembly? Not the locking mechanism but mainly the part with the bottom swivel hinge as mine rusted and broke like edpdx mentioned. LMC sells every piece BUT that one and all the good local yards have been shutdown.
