Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
Good questions! You beat me to the punch too! I have a speaker mounted in my truck; I assume it was hooked up to whatever radio system was in there way back when. Beings there was a SINCGARS (sp?) mount, I'm sure it had something to do with that. Anyway mine is a simple black box mounted by a singel bolt to the corner of the cab behind the passenger seat. it has the same fitting as the CVC helmet and the headsets that came with my VIC 1. What I'd like to find out is how to make it work with the standard VIC-1, no bells or whistles included. Picture will be posted tomorrow...too dark and snowy right now.Not to steal the thread but since this has good info why not keep it going?
For all of you VIC-1 and Commo guys:
I'm setting up a VIC-1 in my deuce and want to add a speaker in the back so I can give instructions during parades or other events. I have a LS671/VRC Loudspeaker Control Unit.
My questions are:
1) can I run something from the AM-1780 to this unit to power it?
2) can a CVC helmet plug in to port J2 so someone in the rear can talk back to me?
I know I can just use another C-2298 but I'd like to be able to have a group in the back of the truck hear me versus having to talk through another person.
I thought of the same thing. So I installed a C-10456 (C2298 will do) on my headache rack. I have an LS-454 loudspeaker hooked into the control box so those without headsets can hear. Just in case they can't hear, I ran a CX-4723 cable to the rear of the truck ,off the headache rack C-10456, to another one I have mounted to the troopseats at the rearmost part of the truck. Not to steal the thread but since this has good info why not keep it going?
