viewing new posts

I am having problems viewing new threads. I click the little orange note to view newest post, and then it says "no new posts since last visit" and then ALL the new posts turn up as if read! Been like this for the last three days, anyone have any advice?

I always go to the main page and review all the topics and read all those with few answers.. never have, in years, tried to just read new stuff.. easier to review all posts on a subject in nanoseconds.

Same here. I also have about 50% luck with the "view post since last visit" button. I either get them or the blank screen.

Is this a 'new' problem for everyone? I have noticed some quirks with it the last couple of days.

It occurs sporadically for me, doesnt matter which pc i am on. does it sometimes at work and sometimes at home.

Its a problem that seems to come & go. Something cookie related... Must be when the server gets sick of one flavor, guees its time to give it more Oatmeal Raisin.....

not had a problem, now that i said that, i probably wont be able to read another post

It doesnt cause you to not be able to read things.... it just messes with where in the thread the links take you.

All it doe's for me is- the new post are'nt highlighted in orange, just all blue and i have to look at the dates to tell new post

Does the same for me. Kind of annoying when you want to go straight to new posts in a thread.

I've figured out that the problem goes away if you log in every time you visit the forum. Just log in and don't check the 'remember me' box. Then new posts will show as new until you read them or leave the site.

i have found that sometimes this is not the case, I'll be reading a thread and then click on the forum link above the thread to get back to the forum, and all the threads will appear read (even the sub-forums that i have not looked in)

I've had that happen if I spend quite a bit of time in one thread (like going off and eating a sandwich).
