The nice folks over at GMA cover corp sent this copy of the instructions for the Vinyl Cargo Cover.

I asked them for permission to post it and they replied that they'd be happy to have us post it but also included a polite mention of their sales line numbers. I'll be posting it in the TM sections when it's back up and working.

Phaedra, Thanks for the diagram. Would you folks mind if I posted them on a collector website? A larger portion of the membership owns M35 2.5 ton trucks and excepting for the folks that have vietnam era trucks, they tend to have the GMA covers. We have Military TMs posted there and how to install these covers comes up occasionally as
someone either buys one of your covers used or direct from you folks.
The site is http://www.steelsoldiers.com/.

Also, let me say that I'm very pleased that GMA Cover Corp is willing
to work with unconventional customers that own supported vehicles.
Hi Ryan,

No problem with posting it on the website. If you could make sure that there is some reference to GMA around it, that would be great. Our sales line number is 888-763-8867 if any of your fellow collectors are interested in buying from us, or they can contact us via e-mail at contracts@gmacover.com.

Thank you for your support for GMA! We are always glad to hear about satisfied customers...makes our jobs easier!

Kindest regards,

Phaedra McIntosh

Ryan, is there a problem with the Tm section? Is it something that was submitted and needs approved? I uploaded that winch TM this morning without any problems! Nevermind! Found your upload, approved it and its ready to be viewed by the masses. Thanks Ryan!

Its there now. Initially when I went to upload it to the TM's section there were no TMS or Articles. They showed back up.

First off, thank you Ryan for going to the trouble of getting this posted. I just picked a good used new style cover and this is very helpfull ! I've searched ( how I found this thread ) but cant seem to find info on the proper folding and storage on the new style cargo covers. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Will.

As far as folding, I have found that no folds is the way for me now adays, except for folding in the long sides to the center then I uase a 6 inch pvc pipe and roll it, it stays so nice for storage and has none of the folded little corner places that are sure to be the firast places to rip and wear...and it fits tight to the cab on the floor, and when needed rolls right out, just sayin...Oh the pipe is the drainage grade alot lighter...FYI NOT schedule 40...

Installing vinyl covers are very difficult. If anyone has one they should probably give up trying to use it and just ship it to me.

It's the least I can do to help fellow SteelSoldiers members.

I bought my truck with the vinyl cover and had not taken it off until yesterday. I didn't know what to do but the best way seemed to be fold the sides over the top and then roll it toward the cab over the top bows. I was able to do it myself and then stow it in the front of the bed. I did not think about rolling it over a pvc pipe. Good idea.

It takes me about 5 to 10 minutes to completely put on a full new vinyl cover by myself. since i just did it yesterday while needing it for all the stuff from my shop i am storing init...They are really very nice , and once doing it once or twice it is easy, I can see how if one has not done it, it sure would be nice to see it first, they do not seem big enough at first untill all sides are pulled down and tight, then all of a sudden ..oh..its just right...LOL...

There are detailed folding and unfolding instructions in the -10, don't they work with the vinyl cover too? Wayne
I folded it that way and it just looks like it is going to cause problems for the vinyl. The folds dont roll over smooth like canvas, the edges fold to a "point" which look like its going to damage the vinyl sooner or later.

These instructions are not in the TM section. Any chance the old resources section is out there or can anyone PM me that has them? Thanks.

My cover don't have the D rings . There are 3 straps. With the metal pinch clip on it. and I can not finger out how it would go to get it to tighten around the bow.they seem to be to long. Any one know how they go?

The three are for rolling the back up cover up (there are more along the sides). There should be three more further up under the cover.
