Wait light staying on engine not starting

Quick question. For the past 3 winters my m1009 has performed flawlessly in cold weather. This winter I have had to use ether a few times to get it started. When I turn the ignition on the wait light stays on for 1 minute when in the past it would stay on for 15 seconds even in the coldest of weather. Now the wait light stays on and I can't get it to fire off without a shot of ether. Where should I start my trouble shooting? Just before the wait light goes out I can hear the GP relay snap then 2 seconds later the wait light goes out. Where should I start my trouble shooting?
Thanks

The best place is the GP troubleshooting section of the TM.

Sounds like your glowplugs are bad.

You can randomly throw parts at it or you can methodically troubleshoot it.

Troubleshooting is covered in the -20TM.

Random parts, is up to you.

Correct methods make for sucessful results, diagnos the problem, repair the defects - life goes on!! As they say- anyone can change parts/ not everyone can fix the problem. Bottom line if you can't figure out the problem- find someone who can - it will be cheaper in the long run!!! Proven time and time again!

You have offered nothing in this post that would help him. if you don't know how to diagnose your cucv and just throw parts at it maybe you should read the TM's also. Your post is completely in line with what Pete said.

I read the manual followed procedures and it turned out the GP relay was bad. New relay in this morning and she fired right up. Thanks for the help.
